Punjab Government Launches ‘Dhee Rani Program’ for Newly Married Couples

In a significant move aimed at supporting newly married couples, the Punjab government has launched the ‘Dhee Rani Program’. The initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, offers a comprehensive package of benefits to newlyweds.

The program, which will run from October 21 to November 5, 2024, provides newly married couples with a one-time grant of Rs. 1 lakh. This amount will be disbursed through a Bank of Punjab ATM card.

In addition to the financial assistance, the government will also provide newlyweds with a gift hamper containing essential household items such as furniture, clothes, and crockery. The government will also cover the cost of the wedding ceremony and the subsequent meal.

To apply for the Dhee Rani Program, eligible couples can submit their applications online through the Qcmp.punjab.gov.pk portal or by calling the helpline 1312. The district director of social welfare will assist applicants in the process.

To ensure transparency, teams from the assistant commissioner’s office will verify the applications.

The Dhee Rani Program is expected to provide much-needed support to newly married couples in Punjab and help them establish their new lives together.
