The International Water Association in collaboration with Grundfos is excited to announce that applications are now open for the IWA & Grundfos Youth Action for Sustainable Development Goal 6 Fellowship. This initiative, launched in 2022 and now a global program, has been a major contributor to youth involvement in the water industry.

Fellowship Overview
The Fellowship aims to build on the successes of its predecessor by addressing the changing needs of the water sector in the face of rapid environmental change. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity for 14 IWA Young Water Professionals, to participate in exclusive online and physical events and collaborate on solutions aimed towards fostering resilience and adaptability within the water sector. The selected fellows will work together to create a publication that highlights locally-led water management solutions.

Fellowship Activities
During the fellowship, selected YWPs can expect to participate in various enriching activities including:
- In Person Gathering at IWA Head Office
- Location: London
- Date : April 2025
- In-Person Event at Grundfos HQ
- Location: Denmark
- Date April 2025
- Participation at a High Level Water Sector Event
- Date & Location: To Be determined
- Attendance at IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition
- Location: Glasgow (Scotland)
- Date: Sept 2026
- Project support for publication costs
- The Fellows will be supported in the publication of their project.
These activities provide a platform for young professionals in the water industry to collaborate, innovate and contribute to sustainable water solutions.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet these requirements to be eligible for this prestigious award:
- Age range: The applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old .
- IWA Member: Candidates are required to hold a valid IWA member. This will be checked during the application.
- Commitment for Positive Change: Demonstrate your strong commitment to driving meaningful changes within the water industry.
- Leadership and Impact Demonstrate leadership and make a significant contribution to the water sector.
- English Proficiency Candidates are required to have a basic understanding of English.
Note Previous recipients of the IWA & Grundfos Youth Action for SDG 6 fellowship are not eligible for a reapplication.
Fellowship Funding Details
The Fellowship covers all expenses, including:
- Air Travel and Subsistence costs
- Accommodation (single occupancy)
- Ground Transportation and Visa Application fees
Nevertheless, some participants will have to manage their own visa application, Insurance and Travel arrangements.

Candidates must fill out an online application and submit it in English along with the documents below:
- Curriculum Vitae Maximum 2 pages.
- Motivation letter– Maximum 2 pages, detailing experience relevant to the Fellowship, motivations for applying and possible contributions.
- Letter of Reference Maximum 1 page.
- Project proposal– Maximum 2 pages outlining the intended contribution to Fellowship’s final publication.
